As Central Pennsylvania prepares for its first snowfall of the holiday season, PennDOT is urging drivers to remain cautious. Cambria and Somerset counties are under a winter storm warning from 1 p.m. today thru 7 a.m. on Saturday. Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations of anywhere from 4-10 inches, with the highest amounts on the ridgetops. The snow will fall heavily at times tomorrow morning. Travel could be difficult. PennDOT is urging motorists to pack an emergency kit, and make sure their vehicles are ready to handle any adverse conditions. PennDOT crews are expected to be actively treating roadways ahead of the storm. As a result of the oncoming storm, PennDOT has placed restrictions on Interstate 81 north of I-380, and the entire length of I-84. For further details visit, 511pa.com.
