Yesterday, the Blair County Commissioners introduced the budget for next year. As a result, the proposed budget is now on public display through the end of this month. The budget includes an 8% increase in real estate taxes. According to the Altoona Mirror, if the budget is approved with this increase, the owner of a property assessed at $100,000, will see a yearly increase in their tax bill from $452.20 to $488.30. Information regarding next year’s budget can be found on the county’s website at www.blairco.org. The budget will be voted on at the commissioner’s December 31st meeting.
