A 19-year-old Altoona man was arraigned earlier this week, on charges in connection with the October crash that resulted in the death of Altoona High School student, 17-year-old Lundyn Treese. Jared Detwiler has been charged with homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while DUI and other related counts. Police say Treese was ejected from a truck that Detwiler was driving after he lost control, and crashed along the 10th Avenue Expressway in Altoona. Authorities say at the time of the crash, Detwiler reportedly had over 2.5 times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Detwiler’s arraignment was postponed as he was in the Altoona Hospital being treated for injuries he sustained in the crash. He is now in the Blair County Prison, in lieu of $100,000 bail.
