The suspect in the UnitedHealthcare CEO killing is facing multiple charges. Twenty-six year old Luigi Mangione was taken into custody yesterday, at McDonald’s, along Plank Road in Altoona, for the shooting death of Brian Thompson on December 4th on a New York City sidewalk. Mangione was recognized by a customer inside McDonalds. The customer then informed a McDonald’s employee who called 911. Mangione was charged in Pennsylvania with five counts, according to a criminal complaint released yesterday. He faces one felony count of forgery and one felony count of carrying a firearm without a license, along with three misdemeanor charges. Mangione appeared in person for a preliminary arraignment at the Blair County Courthouse last night, in Hollidaysburg, and was ordered to be held without bail, and then taken to the State Prison in Huntingdon. Late last night, NYPD filed second-degree murder and related charges against Mangione. He is expected to be extradited to New York to face a murder charge in last week’s shooting death of Brian Thompson.
