Parents of a 2-year-old were arrested by Altoona Police on Wednesday, after they received a call for a welfare check, at an apartment on the 900 block of 2nd Avenue. Arrested were 29-year-old Acycia Marino, and 28-year-old Colton Stapleton. During a search of the apartment, police found a double-edged sword in the toddler’s room, along with a cut straw with white residue. Police also said another woman was found in the bedroom next to the toddler’s room, and she was arrested for possession just a few hours earlier. According to a criminal complaint, a search of the residence also yielded packets of suspected heroin, needles, empty baggies and breastmilk bags full of marijuana. Both Marino and Stapleton were charged with child endearment and drug possession, along with reckless endangerment. They were both placed in the Blair County Prison. Bail has been set at $100,000 each. The toddler was removed from the home.
