A giant tree is on display inside Latrobe’s Saint Vincent Basilica ahead of their Christmas Eve masses tonight. The new 26-foot-tall artificial evergreen is illuminated by white LED lights which cast a glow over the entire choir area in the sanctuary. The tree was put together in sections by workers with Silvis Group, a landscaping firm with an office in Mount Pleasant. An anonymous donor provided the money to purchase the massive Christmas tree, to replace one that was determined to be unsafe to put together several years ago.
