On Tuesday afternoon, firefighters responded to a blaze at a home in Winburne, Clearfield County that resulted in the death of the father of the responding fire chief. Killed in the afternoon blaze was Clifford “Butch” Dunlap, who was the father of Winburne fire Chief Bobby Dunlap, and the grandfather of another crew member. Firefighters tried to get him out of the burning structure, but sadly it was unstable, and ultimately collapsed in on itself. Butch Dunlap was a founding member of the Winburne Volunteer Fire Company.
