A Somerset County man is facing felony charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman and her unborn child. According to a press releases from the office of the Somerset County District Attorney, arrested was Andrew Ashurst, who was accused of pushing the woman during a verbal altercation. This resulted in the woman hitting her head and appendix area. The release also states Ashurst allegedly pulled the woman by her hair and hit her in the face with a cellphone. Furthermore, he allegedly refused to call 911 when the woman began to go into labor as a result of the assault. Ashurst has been placed in the Somerset County Prison and is facing charges that include aggravated assault of an unborn child, simple assault, and false imprisonment.
