Gardners Candies of Tyrone is recalling 1.25-ounce Cappuccino Meltaway bars for a possible life-threatening nut allergy. The bars may contain undeclared cashews. The products were distributed nationwide through retail stores beginning on September 1st. According to a statement from the FDA, the cappuccino meltaways are packaged in a 1.25-ounce white plastic package marked with lot number 082725. They can also be found in the Gardners Meltaway Treat Box, marked with lot 101625 or 112525. So far no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. Anyone who purchased the product can call Gardners Candies corporate office for a replacement at 1-800-242-2639.
