There are more people without a home in Pennsylvania than a year ago. The latest federal Housing and Urban Development report shows a 12 percent spike in homelessness in the state. The HUD count shows just over 14 thousand homeless people in the state. That includes at least 719 veterans. Pennsylvania is not alone in seeing more homeless in 2024. The report says nationally, homelessness spiked 18 percent.
