A 49-year-old Cambria County man is facing charges after he allegedly took money for a bus trip that never happened. Arrested was Duane Leamer of Northern Cambria. Leamer is facing felony charges that include theft by deception and receiving stolen property. The alleged scam came to light after a number of people contacted the Northern Cambria Borough Police Department early last month. One victim told authorities she paid Leamer $125 for a bus ticket to New York, which was eventually cancelled. Upon cancellation, her money was never refunded to her. In a criminal complaint authorities noted they received between 15-20 emails from people who were never refunded their money. Leamer was arraigned on January 3rd and released on unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 14th.
