The Real ID deadline is quickly approaching. Here is what you need, to get your Pennsylvania driver’s license updated to meet the new federal security standards. To update your license through PennDOT you need proof of identity, proof of social security, two proofs of current physical address, and proof of legal name changes, if any exists. The Real ID goes into effect May 7th and the cost is a one-time fee of $30. Real ID is not mandatory, however, without it you cannot board domestic commercial flights, access federal government facilities, or enter military installations.
