Penn-DOT To Work Around The Clock During Snow And Freeze

penndot-2

State officials are preparing for what is expected to be one of the coldest weeks of the winter so far.  Penn-DOT says crews will be “out around the clock” monitoring the roads and taking action when needed.  However, the department is encouraging Pennsylvanians to stay home if possible, especially if there is a flash freeze.  Penn-DOT warned ice is a challenge for every vehicle, including those with all-wheel drive.  Commercial vehicles are to travel in the right lane only.  Speed restrictions are also in place in District 9 which covers Blair, Cambria, Somerset, Huntingdon, Bedford and Fulton Counties.  Speeds have been reduced to 45 MPH on some roads.  For more information on restrictions and road closings go to 511PA.com.
