A new state bill has been proposed to ban cat declawing in Pennsylvania. The bill is being sponsored by State Senators, Democrat Carolyn Comitta, and Republican Tracy Pennycuick. Over the years, veterinarians, along with animal advocates have stressed the procedure is unnecessary and inhumane. Under this bill, declawing for cosmetic or aesthetic reasons, as well as convenience, would be prohibited in Pennsylvania.
