Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman says plans for him to switch parties are rumors. Fetterman said even if he wanted to switch he would make a “pretty bad Republican.” Rumors began to swirl when Fetterman reached out to Republicans, including becoming the first sitting Democratic senator to visit President Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Fetterman also attended Monday’s inauguration wearing his trademark shorts and hoodie. Shortly after Trump took the oath of office, Fetterman sent out a fundraising email saying, “Even though Donald Trump is officially back in the White House, I’m not backing down from fighting for what’s right.” He added by saying, “The government’s job is to make life easier, not take away your rights.”
