A Johnstown area man is facing sexual assault charges after being accused of having inappropriate contact with a woman who was sleeping at the time. West Hills Police arrested 46-year-old John Nettle who allegedly attempted to rape a woman, early Monday morning, at a home in Lower Yoder Township. Police say the woman, who knew Nettle, reportedly awoke to find him nude, and touching her inappropriately. Nettle reportedly denied any wrongdoing and claimed he was trying to “cuddle” with the woman. Police note, Nettle was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident. He is facing numerous charges including rape of an unconscious victim. He has been placed in the Cambria County Prison. Bail has been set at $50,000.
