Kohberger’s Lawyers Want DNA Evidence Thrown Out

pos-4

Attorneys for a Carbon County native, charged in the killing of four Idaho college students, are asking the court to throw out DNA evidence.  Bryan Kohberger is accused of stabbing the victims to death in November of 2022 near the University of Idaho.  He was arrested the following month at his parents’ home in Chestnuthill Township.  Inside a Boise courtroom yesterday, Kohberger’s lawyers argued that the FBI’s collection of their client’s DNA from a public ancestry website was a violation of his rights and that he had an expectation to privacy regarding that DNA sample.  The presiding judge rejected that argument and says that the evidence stays in.
