Penn-DOT is planning to place Tier Four restrictions on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, due to the winter weather in the forecast. The department says the restrictions will go into effect at seven p.m. tonight. Under Tier Four restrictions, no commercial vehicles, buses, motorcycles, or passenger vehicles towing trailers are allowed on the road. Penn-DOT says the roads will be pretreated, but drivers are still urged to use caution in freezing conditions.
