The Borough of State College will be looking for a new police chief. Yesterday it was announced that John Gardner, who has served as chief since 2016, plans on retiring at the end of the year. Gardner is a 35-year veteran with the State College Police Department. Gardner’s career is expected to be celebrated within the borough in the coming months. Borough officials have not yet announced plans regarding his replacement.
