The Pennsylvania teacher imprisoned in Russia on drug charges since 2021 is back in America. Marc Fogel arrived at the White House last night, after being released by the Kremlin, and flown out of the country on the jet of President Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. Fogel was arrested on charges of bringing medical marijuana into Russia in 2021, and was classified as wrongfully detained by the Biden administration last year. Speaking at the White House next to President Trump, an emotional Fogel said he feels like the luckiest man on earth. He also called President Trump his hero. The President did not confirm or deny speaking with Russian President Putin, and said the terms of the deal were “very fair” and “not like deals seen over the years” without commenting on the specifics. He also went on to say another American hostage will be released today.
