The case of a Cambria County teen accused of killing a Greater Johnstown high school student last November, is closer to a trial after a preliminary hearing was held yesterday. Seventeen-year-old Kaden Woodring was arrested in late November, following the shooting death of 17-year-old Syrina Raneri. Police say Woodring allegedly pointed a rifle at Raneri when she came to pick up two individuals at a home located along Sheridan Street in the West End section of Johnstown. Investigators reported, that Woodring reportedly told Raneri, “You know I’m playing,” before he pulled the trigger. Woodring has claimed the shooting was an accident. He faces charges that include criminal homicide and aggravated assault, and all charges were bound over to the court of common pleas.
