New Bird Flu Cases Reported In PA

So far over 100,000 new bird flu cases have been reported in Pennsylvania.  The Centers for Disease Control says bird flu was detected at a Lancaster County commercial broiler production flock of about 80,000 birds.  Another case was reported at a commercial duck meat facility in Cumberland County, affecting 20,000 birds.  Last week, also in Lancaster County, nearly 600 nonagricultural poultry cases were detected.  Recently, Blair County reported its first case of bird flu in four Canadian Geese, found in North Woodbury Township.  So far this year, Pennsylvania has seen more than 2 million birds affected by the avian flu.
