The Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium’s Conservation Center in Somerset County has received four new American Bisons, one male, and three females. Both the zoo and its nature reserve are part of a program called ‘Saving Animals From Extinction’. The bison were born last summer, and arrived at the conservation center in December. Today, bison are listed as a near threatened species, and its hoped through programs like ‘Saving Animals From Extinction’, the animal can be reintroduced back into the wild.
