An elderly Somerset County woman was killed in a fire yesterday morning. The house fire broke out early yesterday morning, at a home along the 900 block of Lohr Street in Central City. Firefighters reportedly battled the blaze for several hours before discovering the victim’s body. Authorities are not identifying the woman at this time. Reportedly, a state police fire marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire, however it’s believed to have started in the kitchen. Officials further add that a firefighter suffered a cardiac event while battling the fire and was hospitalized. He is reported to be in stable condition.
