A proposed piece of legislation in Pennsylvania would make it a felony for children to attend drag shows. Republican Representative Robert Leadbeter of Columbia County, introduced the legislation saying under current law, it’s an offense for an individual to commit any act that tends to “corrupt the morals” of a minor. Leadbeter said that to avoid any ambiguity as to whether taking a minor to a drag show constitutes corruption of minors, his legislation will explain that, “such conduct is proscribed under the laws of the Commonwealth.” Leadbeter further noted that his legislation is in alignment with existing public decency laws, and upholds parental rights.
