Schools in Philadelphia plan on continuing to allow transgender athletes to play in girls’ sports even after the state announced it would comply with President Trump’s “No Men in Women’s Sports” executive order. In a prepared statement, the Philadelphia School District said it will strive to ensure safety, equity and justice for all students regardless of gender identity or gender expressions. The statement comes just a day after the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association approved a revision to its policy that prevents trans athletes from competing in women’s sports. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has said the Department of Justice will hold accountable, states and state entities, that violate federal law.
