A Republican candidate for mayor of Hollidaysburg, has thrown his hat into the ring. Long-time Hollidaysburg resident Jimmy Carson has announced his candidacy for the position. In a prepared statement, Carson said the borough had been very good to him, and it was time for him to give back. Having worked for the borough for decades, Carson said he gained knowledge on how things work within the community. Carson said he feels his experience would make him a leading candidate for the position. Carson has lived in Hollidaysburg for 59 years.
