The Loudoun County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office is now naming a person of interest in connection with the disappearance of a University of Pittsburgh student in the Dominican Republic.  Fox News reports that a sheriff’s office spokesperson has connected 24-year-old Joshua Riibe to the missing persons investigation for Sudiksha Konanki.  Multiple sources have confirmed Riibe, a 24-year-old American citizen from Iowa, as the man who was alone with Konanki on a Punta Cana beach when she was last seen.  Riibe reportedly told investigators he and Konanki were swimming when they were hit by a large wave before finding their way back to the beach.  He says, at that point, he threw up and passed out, with Konanki gone by the time he woke up hours later, according to officials.  Authorities say Riibe has been interviewed extensively and has not been accused of a crime, adding that no evidence of violence has been found.
