The suspected health care CEO killer will not appear in a New York federal court as scheduled this week, as his lawyer makes a new argument in his defense in his Pennsylvania case. Luigi Mangione’s Manhattan federal hearing was moved to April 18th, with no word given for the change. Mangione has not yet been indicted on federal charges by a grand jury for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the Midtown Manhattan Hilton on December 4th. Mangione’s Pennsylvania lawyer, Thomas Dickey of Altoona is now saying police illegally got Mangione’s DNA when they gave him food and a soda after his arrest in Altoona last December. He also says police lacked probable cause, and did not read him his rights before questioning him.
