The Trump Administration has suspended $175 million in federal funding from the University pf Pennsylvania over its policies allowing transgender women to compete in women’s sports. The cuts are tied to Lia Thomas, a transgender woman, and former Penn swimmer, who made headlines when she competed, and won, as a member of the women’s swimming team. Reportedly, a Penn spokesperson has said the Philadelphia based university is aware of the funding being pulled, but has not received a formal notice from the White House.
