As we wrap up St. Patrick’s season for 2025, our latest “Local Song of the Week” honors go to Harrisburg Celtic rock favorites the Kilmaine Saints, and their explosive rendition of the Animals-popularized traditional song “The House of the Rising Sun,” which appears on the group’s 2023 CD and album “Same Again Tomorrow.” As with many Irish and Celtic-flavored bands, the Kilmaine Saints are finishing up their 11-show “St. Pat’s Tour 2025,” featuring show dates in Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Rhode Island. Watch out for the Kilmaine Saints’ high-powered live show at various Irish and Celtic festivals throughout the warm weather months, and a likely return visit to McGarvey’s in Altoona sometime soon (possibly in September for the “halfway to St. Patrick’s Day” occasion)!
