A former UPMC doctor is facing charges for allegedly trying to kill his wife in Hawaii after she refused to pose for a picture with him. Honolulu police say 46-year-old Gerhardt Konig struck his wife in the head with a rock and tried to push her off a hiking trail at the Pali Lookout Monday morning. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Konig’s LinkedIn profile shows he attended the Pitt School of Medicine, and was employed as an anesthesiologist at UPMC before going to work in Hawaii sometime after March of 2023.
