Republican State Senator Judy Ward, who represents Blair County, has announced the Pennsylvania Senate Education Committee has approved legislation that would make certain that high school and college sports teams would be designated based on biological sex. The “Save Women’s Sports Act” requires public schools and colleges to label teams as female, male or coed. The legislation states that only biological females can join teams designated for women. The bill would also allow students to take legal action if they are harmed by violations of this rule. The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
