A Somerset County inmate was found guilty of first degree murder on Friday. It only took a jury three hours to find Paul Kendrick guilty of killing corrections officer Sgt. Mark Baserman seven years ago. Kendrick was accused in the beating death of Baserman, of Johnstown, in February of 2018, after Baserman removed a towel from his cell. Since this was a capital case, a separate hearing on whether Kendrick should receive the death penalty will be held tomorrow.
