Taking the spotlight for Q94’s latest “Local Song of the Week” is the latest band guest on our Sunday night “Homegrown Rocker” local music program, Pittsburgh-based Americana and folk performers Buffalo Rose with their latest single, “Solid Ground!” Since their formation in 2016, Buffalo Rose has gained popularity through their fresh fusion of folk, Americana and bluegrass flavors with a touch of indie-rock edge. Bright vocals and harmonies, enthusiastic and energetic playing and a freewheeling live show have made this group a favorite of music festivals and other live events. The group has opened shows for the likes of the Wood Brothers, The Travelin’ McCoury’s, Tyler Childers and more. In 2020, Buffalo Rose met and began collaborating with renowned Grammy-winning folk singer Tom Paxton, and Paxton has since appeared on several of their songs. Buffalo Rose will perform at the Indiana Theater in Indiana on Friday night, May 2.
