A report in the Altoona Mirror, AAA says that they predict some 39 million people will travel somewhere for the first holiday of summer, and that the turnpike commission says it predicts some 2.2. million drivers will travel the turnpike for the holiday weekend. AAA says that their projections are 15% higher than the same time in 2019, the last true travel year before the pandemic hit. Many folks say that because of gas prices, they are considering air travel and other modes of transportation. Back in Pa, state police urge drivers to obey speed limits and eliminate distracted driving.
