A report by WTAJ indicates that the airline used by the University Park Airport has suspended service in state college. In a post to its Facebook account, Allegiant says that because of increased demand for flights and the current labor shortage, flights out of state college have been temporarily halted. An airline spokes woman says that the decision was a difficult one, but the airline had no other choice. Allegiant provided direct flights to the Orlando and St. Petersburg areas of Florida. There was no information regarding when or if flights will resume anytime soon.
