A report by the National Desk indicated that some 7000 people were allegedly heading toward the United States via Mexico, but were stopped when they were reportedly given temporary asylum papers to remain in Mexico. The report suggested that the caravan of people could have grown to more than 15,000 seeking asylum in the U.S. Last year, border patrols engaged with some 1.7 million people trying to get into the States. That figure is 3 times higher than in 2020, according to the report. So far this year alone, the border has seen 1.2 million people. The article also said that the Biden White House is scrambling on what to do to try and slow down the number of people trying to get into the country.
