Greater Johnstown School District hosted a town hall Tuesday about a continued spike in violence and misbehavior inside school halls and possible solutions to the problem. About 20 parents, students, and community members came up to speak offering their stories and their ideas. The one thing that seemed to encompass all their responses was the need for more accountability. The school board is trying to figure out how to curb bad behavior within the school community as videos of fights and other misconduct have been flooding social media. The Greater Johnstown Education Association cited violence as one of the many issues that led to them announcing in April a vote of “no confidence” against Superintendent Amy Arcurio.
