WJAC reported that Smithmyer’s Superette located in Loretto gave its customers a small but large break at the gas pumps over the weekend. The report indicates that the owner lowered the price of gas some 60 cents a gallon before fathers day, as a way of trying to help ease the pain at the pump. James Gregg said he just wanted to give back to his community and has challenged other stores to do the same, if at all possible. The unique twist to this story is that the Superette has only 1 gas pump, so there is very little in the way of profit.
