In a report in the Altoona Mirror, the Public Utility Commission has approved a plan to distribute some $64 million back to residential and business customers thanks to tax savings related to the federal tax cuts and jobs act of 2017. Penelec, West Penn Power, Penn Power, Met-Ed and Peoples Natural Gas will all get money back to its customers. Penelec will get a lions share of the $64 million, with nearly $27 million coming back to its customers. That money will be distributed in the form of credits on monthly billing statements beginning next month and continuing through December.
