Here is a listing of area live music and online music happenings for the weekend and week of Thursday, June 23 through Thursday, June 30. (This is being posted a day early this week to accommodate the motorcycle festivals happening this weekend, some which begin on Thursday, June 23.)
Motorcycle weekend returns to the area this weekend, with numerous festivals and live music events connected to them. Johnstown’s Thunder In The Valley and the Cambria Summit A.B.A.T.E.’s 15th Annual Bikefest at the American Legion Fairgrounds in Ebensburg get under way on Thursday, and Ebensburg’s “Wheels & Wings” festivities take over downtown Ebensburg on Thursday evening as well. The PA Roundhouse Rally Summer Series resumes Friday at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson near Duncansville, with live music happening both Friday and Saturday. The Windber Thunder Street Party takes place in downtown Windber on Friday as well. There’s plenty of live music for folks who don’t ride motorcycles as well…The second annual Millheim WalkFest of Arts & Music happens from Friday through Sunday throughout the borough of Millheim, with arts, crafts, activities and live music on various stages…The inaugural Bedford Bluegrass Bash takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Bedford Fairgrounds, with a variety of bluegrass performers from the region and across the state…After being dormant for several decades, Musselman’s Grove in Claysburg officially returns to action with a day-long grand reopening event on Saturday, with a wide variety of musical talent taking the stage…And a day of live music will happen on Saturday at downtown Huntingdon’s new Bryan Park facility.
And for fans of chicken wings, the annual wing-eating festivities are returning…The Tussey WingFest at Tussey Mountain Amphitheater near Boalsburg returns this Thursday (June 23), and will feature weekly wings from area vendors plus live music through mid-August…Windber’s Wings-N-Waves wing-eating festivities get under way this Thursday as well at Windber’s Recreation Park; the five-week series will feature wings from three different area eateries and vendors each week, with championship rounds held during the final two weeks. Live music will happen each week…And the annual Legion Park Wing Offs commence next Thursday (June 30) at Hollidaysburg’s Legion Park, and will also feature wings and live music weekly through mid-August.
