Details slowly coming from Harrisburg tell us that there have allegedly been closed door budget meetings between lawmakers and gov wolf to get a budget done and hopefully voted on before the june 30th deadline passes. The new budget is supposed to be in place before the new fiscal year begins by Friday, and still no word from anyone saying if the state will meet the deadline, imposed by law. If a budget is not approved, the state will lose some of its power to spend money and make payments. And one other key note about the budget, public school district across the state are sitting and waiting for word on how much money will be coming from the budget for the new school year. Many districts have already raised property taxes because they don’t know how much money they will be receiving from Harrisburg.
