News and police reports indicate that authorities arrested 54 year old John Wineland after he held police at bay for some 15 hours Thursday into Friday. No details were released about how or what caused the standoff to begin, but Wineland was taken to a hospital for an evaluation before he was brought back to Tyrone to face charges, which include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by someone who is prohibited, simple assault and reckless endangerment. Police thanked all area businesses and residents who sent supplies and water for first responders at the scene.
