According to a report by channel 6, state police in Ridgway arrested 25 year old Tori Shaffer, after they discovered 2 strands of hair at the scene of a burglary. Shaffer is alleged to have broken into a campsite in elk county back in December of 2020. 30 model trains valued at $15,000 along with a laptop computer, pistol and other items were stolen. Witnesses told state police that a red Mazda had been spotted outside the campsite at the time. That car turned out to be registered to Shaffer. DNA evidence of the stands of hair recovered matched that of Shaffer. She is now facing charges including felony theft, burglary, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass. Shaffer’s bail was set at $100,000.
