WJAC reports that the district finally settled on hiring at least 2 security guards who reportedly will be armed, along with a school police officer, who will likely be a school employee. The district has been in turmoil following the arrest of two teenagers last winter for plotting a mass shooting at the high school, which was foiled. The district hired a police officer earlier this year, but she quit just after being hired. The new security officers and police officer will only be employed when students are in class and school is in session.
