A report by WJAC indicates that on Friday, Somerset County court ruled that the trial for Jeff Thomas has been moved to January of next year. The judge granted the defense motion to move the trial so they can line up their witnesses. Thomas is facing numerous charges, with the most serious being that he is accused of raping a Windber woman in her home in 2021. His attorneys say they are pleased with the ruling, and can now get all of their witnesses to appear in court at the new trial date. Jury selection for the case is expected to begin in November.
