Police report that a band of traveling criminals has infiltrated Pa, and are looking for quick hitting scams to take cash from unsuspecting victims. State police say the criminals are of middle eastern or hispanic descent and are posing as stranded motorists that are in need of money. They are reportedly selling jewelry they claim is gold, but is really counterfeit in nature. People are being scammed in casino parking lots and inside the casinos themselves. They are telling stories of sick or starving family members back home and are preying on sympathy to steal your money. To top that off, state police say these thieves are traveling in high end new luxury vehicles with out of state plates. They also are flagging down drivers on highways. Posing as stranded motorists. The criminals are members of the Romanian Transnational criminal outfit.
