News reports suggest the workers entered into negotiations on September 1st, but walked off the job on Friday, after those negotiations yielded no results. 14 nursing homes around the state are affected by this walkout the workers are fighting for improved working conditions, including staffing issues, bedside care and other issues. The reports indicate that no new negotiating sessions are scheduled , but workers are hopeful that talks can resume in a timely manner. There were no nursing homes in our area that were on the list with striking workers.
