Television news reports indicate the fire alarm was called in just shortly after 8 am Wednesday. Fire crews arrived at the home on the 1500 block of 5th street. There they found the house engulfed in flames. The two and a half story house was apparently undergoing some renovations when the fire broke out and was unoccupied at the time. After the fire was put out, officials deemed it a complete loss. The house will be torn down by emergency demolition. The city fire inspector is investigating to determine a cause, and no injuries were reported.
